The Nanaimo Timbermen are pleased to welcome Ryan McMichael to the organization.

The Brooklin, Ontario native will serve as an assistant coach with the Tier 1 Jr. B squad for the upcoming season.

McMichael comes in with a strong coaching resume that includes an Intermediate regular season championship with the Coquitlam Adanacs in 2016.

Back in Ontario, McMichael spent 2017-19 as an offensive coach with the Jr. A Whitby Warriors.

In 2018 he was the offensive coach for the Arena Lacrosse League champion Whitby Steelhawks.

Dave Bremner, the BCJALL''s Coach of the Year in 2019, is excited to welcome McMichael to the program.

"I feel the players will like Ryan's approach and knowledge of the game. We are as excited as Ryan is, about this addition to our staff and what it will mean to our overall success"

As a player some of McMichael's box lacrosse highlights include winning the WLA title with Langley in 2012, and capturing the Founders Cup in 2000 with Clarington.

The Tier 1 Timbermen finished sixth in the overall standings in 2019 with an 8-8-2 record.

McMichael will be a key piece to the puzzle to finish higher and go on a long playoff run in 2020.
